Ark survival story7/15/2023 ![]() You will be stuck there for a while since the only obelisks are on the surface.Ĥ (tied) extinction has the hardest boss in the King Titan, but it’s super easy to farm tek and metal through OSDs, so in my opinion it’s tied with aberration. Of the canon arks the difficulty considering bosses and environment goes.Ģ Genesis is super easy with the gamma bosses.ģ the Island is a grind but the bosses aren’t bad other than the god damn dragon.Ĥ (tied) Aberration is really hard to survive in due to the lack of flyers and the hazardous environment. ![]() Its your survivors story though, so just progress how you best think fits your role play. Ragnarok, The Center, Valguero, and Crystal isles are all non canon though, so you don’t need to head to them if you don’t want to. Scorched has no ascension, but chronologically Helena heads to Aberration after scorched. In game cutscenes for ascension show you landing on scorched earth though. so basically, beds become teleporters for you AND your gear).According to the lore some survivors skipped certain Arks, like Mei Yin skipping scorched and heading straight to aberration. The Fjordhawk from the same map is also pretty useful (die, and it carries all your stuff to you instantly, anywhere on the map. Makes getting cave artifacts soooooo much easier. Desmodus is allowed to fly in caves naturally, and that extends backwards to caves on earlier maps (like TheIsland). Fjordur (the newest release) has the Desmodus (giant bat) which is worth going to this map all by itself. By Alice Vaughan Leon Published ARK: Survival Evolved is a large game that spans over eleven different maps, but all of its complex lore stems directly from The Island. Lost Island has three completely unique dinos, with the standout one being Dinopithecus (giant baboon). The newer free dlc maps often have completely new dinos, totally unique to that map. There are things you can get on the non-story maps that make the game a lot easier. Since the free dlc maps aren't part of the story at all, you can make a case that they aren't going to "ruin" the story if you make a side venture to one of those maps. Many of them started as mods, and were like so much they were folded into the game officially. Genesis 2 is the end of the story, and has teasers that lead to Ark 2.Īll the other free dlc maps are just optional play areas, with access to rare dinos from the paid maps. Theisland, scorched earth, aberration, extinction, genesis 1, genesis 2. They're cannon maps too, part of the story. Originally posted by agamotto1313:What about Genesis 1 and 2? Where do they fit in? Wouldn't be surprised if the back story revealed in the explorer notes was originally going to be a version of what the players could experience. I kind of get the feeling the devs may have originally intended (way back in early planning) or at least wished for the maps to be unlocked as a progression for completing the previous map but had to be realists and remember that if they limited the audience to people who completed the previous map, the sales would get lower and lower for each consecutive map. If you're only worried about stability, you should be able to play in any order, and jump around as much as you'd like but as previous posters have said, you'll may get spoilers to the story if you play out of order. ![]() If you want the story experience, do map by order, from the island to to the others until you hit extinction I want to complete all maps and get all the notes, but i dont really know if getting items and creatures from other maps can mess up my playthough.
